About us

Terra Australis has been operating for over 30 years providing quality Safari tours for International Student Exchange Programs.

We are the only specialist provider of educational Safaris in Australia. We do not operate coach tours for individual passengers our focus is the International youth exchange market. By focusing only on tours for exchange students aged 14 to 18 we have developed a deep understanding of the needs of our clients and students.

Some of our clients have included Rotary, EF Foundation, STS Student Exchange, World Education Program and AFS Intercultural Programs.

Unlike some Safari Tour providers we do not have any hidden “extra” costs for students. We offer all-inclusive Safari Tours. This means that when students board the coach the only money they will need is to purchase souvenirs and perhaps one or two lunches. All attractions are included in the cost and in some cases all flight costs can also be included.

OUR SAFARI CREWS (Driver and Cook) have many years experience touring around Australia. All crews receive regular training on Duty of Care and must undertake NSW Working with Children Checks prior to their appointment. Our Safari Drivers are carefully selected for their safe driving, commentary skills, enthusiasm and friendly personalities. Our Safari Cooks are fully qualified in providing 3 delicious, nutritious meals per day. All food is prepared and cooked in our specially designed Safari Trailers.

We can offer you the following services:

OUR SAFARI CONSULTANTS have many years’ experience organizing tours around Australia and can assist in planning a safari which meets your budget, time frame and educational requirements.

ORGANISE your Safari. We can handle all the organisational aspects of your Safari. We can issue a booking form, itinerary and brochure direct to individual students. Terra Australis can collect monies direct from the student. We will report to the educational organisation on how many students have signed up and monies paid. Terra Australis will issue a Student Booklet to each student which details what to pack, the accommodation and attractions and what to expect on Safari. The Tour Leader Booklet also includes specific information to assist the Tour Leader to prepare for the Safari.

CONDUCT the Safari. All our vehicles are modern, luxury coaches, fully equipped with reclining seats, seat belts, air conditioning, rest room, large tinted saloon windows, video and DVD players. We provide easy to erect Arab style tents (with single pole, sewn in floor and fly screens), a bed roll for each student and camp stretchers for all teachers/leaders. Passengers need to supply a sleeping bag, pillow and personal eating utensils (plate, bowl, cup, cutlery)
